The US will provide assistance to Pakistan in times of COVID crisis. In his latest video message, the US Ambassador Paul Jones has announced that the US government will provide USD 8 million in assistance to Pakistani government to combat coronavirus pandemic. The ambassador endorsed US-Pakistan partnership in these times of crisis highlighting how it was crucial to help out communities across Pakistan.
First, the US will provide three new mobile labs in virus hotspots where people can be tested, treated and monitored to stop the spread. High-tech medical emergency operations centres in all the provinces in Pakisatn will also be funded. Training community healthcare workers to help people living in homes to lessen the burden in hospitals will be a priority. Moreover, an additional 2.4 Millions will be provided for life saving activities in Afghan refugees’ camp centres administered by the UN.
