Legal Identity | Birth Registration Integrated System Launched
Pakistan has introduced a Birth Notification System that links public hospitals directly with civil registration. When a child is born in a public sector hospital, parents now receive an SMS confirming the birth and guiding them on how to obtain the birth certificate and the Child Registration Certificate.
The system is live at 180 public health facilities, connected through 4,500+ digital integrations, and has generated over 200,000 birth notifications so far. Punjab has rolled it out province wide, while other provinces are following.
