



Peace & Justice Network (PJN) Pakistan convened the #AawazII Provincial Forum Punjab meeting, bringing together senior representatives from civil society organizations, key government departments, and development partners. The forum aimed to collectively advance the provincial advocacy agenda and provide strategic direction under the Aawaz Programme.
The meeting emphasized inclusion, strengthened coordination, and evidence-based advocacy to address gender-based violence, child marriage, and to promote social cohesion and peaceful communities.
✅Key areas of focus included:
????Punjab Child Marriage legislation
????Strengthening implementation of women and child protection systems in Punjab
????Review and approval of the draft Transgender Welfare Policy
????Advancing the provincial human rights framework
????Addressing rising intolerance and ensuring protection of religious and ethnic minorities
????Expansion of PSPA social protection schemes, particularly for persons with disabilities
????Strengthening Tahafuz and Meesaq Centres in collaboration with PJN and Police
????Fulfilling inclusive and gender-responsive budgeting commitments
Discussions also highlighted the notification of District Women Protection Committees with the Punjab Women Protection Authority (PWPA); appointment of the Chairperson, Punjab Commission on the Status of Women in coordination with WDD and NCHR; activation of District Human Rights and Interfaith Harmony Committees; and implementation of Hindu and Christian Marriage Rules, along with the Punjab Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Act Rules.
