Progress Review Meeting National Civil Society Alliance on UN Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC)

Peace & Justice Network (پیس اینڈ جسٹس نیٹ ورک پاکستان) had a very productive progress review meeting participate by CEO and Country Director Syed Raza Ali as part of the National Civil Society Alliance on UN Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC) with respected Tariq Khosa sb (Former IG / DG FIA), Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam sb (Former IG) and Dr. Ehsan Sadiq sb (DG National Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism Authority (NAML-CFTA), former IG and DG NPB).

United Nations Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime (#UNTOC) also known as the Palermo Convention, is a key international treaty adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2000 to combat transnational organized crime. It came into force on September 29, 2003, and serves as the main global legal framework for preventing and addressing organized crime.

Key Objectives of UNTOC:

  • Prevent and combat transnational organized crime effectively.
  • Enhance international cooperation in law enforcement and judicial matters.
  • Promote legal and institutional frameworks among member states to address organized crime.
