ISLAMABAD:

The police force in the federal capital is making efforts to enhance ties with the local community and win public support by resolving issues at their doorsteps.

This was stated by SP- Saddar Zone Sarfraz Virk while addressing a Khulli Kuchery in Sector G-13 on Tuesday. The Khulli Kutchery had been organised on the directions of Inspector General (IGP) of Islamabad Police Aamir Zulfiqar and was attended by SDPOs, SHOs, members of conciliatory committees and a large number of local notables and residents.

SP Sarfraz Ahmed Virk listened to the problems of residents and directed the relevant officers to immediately resolve them so that the public can trust the police and build a culture of friendly policing.

Assuring residents that the police are taking all possible step to maintain law and order in the city, he urged them to cooperate with police officers for effective policing.

In this regard, he told locals that a crackdown had been launched against those involved in drug peddling, land grabbing and other criminal activities. Moreover, conciliatory committees will be made more effective to resolve public issues.
