



Islamabad: The government of PTI has decided to make Appointment of Members for National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) that would work to empower the women.
Appointment of Members for National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) act 2012 was extended on March 8, 2012.Under the act, the commission is to comprise of thirteen members as two members of each province of whom at least one member shall be woman, one women member from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad Capital Territory and from minorities.
Ex-officio members would be appointed by prime minister from amongst the names recommended. The member will be with experience of women empowerment. Three names have been recommended for each member. Additionally, the commission shall also include five ex-officio members not below BPS-20 to represent ministries including Human Rights, Law, Finance, Foreign Affairs and Interior.
Sources told Newztodays.com that Provinces, GB, AJK and ICT were approached to recommend three names for appointment of members NCSW. The list of nominations has been sent to cabinet for formal approval.
